Two impressive manches lead Viky on the top step of the podium
The German champion has emerged with a time of 2'15 "22 against the 2'16" 48 of italian athlete Denise Karbon. Third, the American Lindsey Vonn, 2'16 "67. Rebensburg with this success increase advantage on the WC Gs Cup that will be permanently assigned in the giant next weekend in Lenzerheide.

Blizzard &Tecnica still win the slalom with the Austrian athlete Mario Matt. After Bansko, here again on the top step of the podium at Kranjska Gora. Second ex-fair Swede Axel Baeck, leader of the first round, and the American Nolan Kapser . Fourth excellent Andre Myhrer Nordica ski & boots !
Mario Matt & Reinfried Herbst dominated the World Cup Slalom in Bansko, Bulgaria, taking both first and second place.
Almost two years since his last victory, a beaming Mario Matt stood on top of a World Cup podium. With just a four-hundredths second lead, he was able to finish just in front of his teammate Reinfried Herbst.
"Relaxed training and recent preparations have brought me to this place I have already been," commented Matt. "After having taken fourth place at the World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, today both runs went perfectly."
Reinfried Herbst finished his race with a shout of joy. After a sensational run the second-place finisher commented, "I’m so happy that everything is back to normal again. I completely trusted my instincts today, and it worked," in what was the Salzburg natives’ best finish of the season. "Mario could have done without those four-hundredths," joked Reinfried at the finish.
Bernhard Knauss, Blizzard & Tecnica’s racing manager, is thrilled at these recent successes. "After watching the last few races, I thought we might take a podium spot today, but a double victory has so completely surprised me that I still can’t really believe it. It’s been a few years since Blizzard has had multiple winners." Knauss said, remembering the triple winner race in Kitzbühel in 1984 and the triple triumph of the women at the World Champions in Vail in 1999.

Blizzard Cochise – Winner European Ski Award 2011 – Category Hardware Ski
Cochise was designed to be a versatile freerider. Through the combination of its 108mm waist and Blizzard Natural Rocker-Shape, this is a freeride-ski that easily handles different types of snow and terrain. Because of this, Cochise is perfect for skiers who want to have every possible skiing need met off of groomed slopes, and yet still want to have fun on them as well. In short: Blizzard designers, together with freeriders Björn Heregger and Eric Zeller, have successfully applied the idea of versatile performance. Utilizing Flip Core Technology allows the ski to always maintain a smooth and maneuverable ride. The wood core, made from extremely flexible and simultaneously light bamboo, is finished with a double Titanal layer. That creates even more agile handling. By utilizing a combination of Flip Core Technology and a Sandwich Compound Sidewall the ski is also torsionally rigid, allowing both edge grip and power transmission to be perfected despite the width of the ski.

Olympic champion Viktoria Rebensburg wins the season-opening women's World Cup giant slalom on the Rettenbach glacier. Rebensburg finished in a combined time of 2 minutes, 26.39 seconds to beat GS world champion Hoelzl, who led after the first run, by 0.42. It was Rebensburg's first World Cup victory and super good start of the season!
"It's incredible, I can't believe this happened at the first race," Viky said, "It's nice I could prove that the Olympics were not a coincidence."

The World Cup night slalom in Schladming brings again the teammates Myhrer and Hargin together on the podium.
The race was won by Grange in 1'46''54 right in front of Andre Myhrer (1'46''58). Hargin was back in third with 1'47''14. Nordica is again leader in this successful season.
Giuliano Razzoli is back on the podium: 3rd place at Kitzbuehel World Cup Slalom in Austria, the first important success after Vancouver.
The victory went to the French Jean-Baptiste Grange, 2nd place to the Croatian Ivica Kostelic. Razzoli was hoping for this victory and he is now waiting for tomorrow night in Shladming.
Great results for all Tecnica Group athletes thanks to the important results of: Herbst 5th (Tecnica-Blizzard), Myhrer 6th (Nordica-Nordica), Hargin 7th (Nordica-Nordica) e Matt 8th (Tecnica-Blizzard).

Three-time world champion Mario Matt will be racing on BLIZZARD skis and TECNICA boots next season. The Austrian slalom star has signed a two-year contract with racing team BLIZZARD-TECNICA.
Mittersill (Austria) – A prominent addition has been made to Italian Tecnica Group’s BLIZZARD-TECNICA racing team. Three-time world champion Mario Matt will start next season wearing skis from the traditional ski brand BLIZZARD and boots from TECNICA, signing a two-year contract with BLIZZARD-TECNICA. Race Manager Bernhard Knauss is excited about the coup: “We are quite excited about this commitment from Mario Matt. He has been one of the best slalom racers in recent years and is very well-liked by fans. This strengthens our team and gives us – in addition to Reinfried Herbst – another highly experienced racer with the potential to win at the highest level.”
BLIZZARD-TECNICA strengthens its presence in Slalom
Mario Matt has been one of the most successful alpine ski racers in recent years. Starting for Arlberg’s Ski Club, the slalom specialist has won 12 World Cup races and reached the podium over 30 times in his career. In 2001 he achieved his first major victory, winning Gold at the Alpine Skiing World Championships in St. Anton. In 2007 in Are, Sweden, he took a second World Championship title in the team category, in addition to winning his second Slalom title. At BLIZZARD and TECNICA this new commitment by the prominent Austrian is seen with pride. “In Mario Matt we have, in addition to Reinfried Herbst, another successful and popular ski star on our team. Such a well-known, professional racer creates even more of a presence for us in the skiing world, lending an additional motivational push to the whole brand. We will also profit from his experience in ski development,” said a visibly enthusiastic Thomas Zettler, Managing Director Sales and Marketing BLIZZARD-TECNICA.
Mario Matt highly motivated with his new sponsor
Harmony between man and machine – the 2001 and 2007 Slalom World Champion only needed a few tests to realize that his new equipment was not only fast, but just right for him: “With BLIZZARD and TECNICA I felt quite comfortable after only a few test runs. There is an enormous amount of potential for me here. Also, a small, high-quality team has the advantage of being able to adjust quickly to my individual needs and wishes. My teammate Reinfried Herbst showed just how fast one can ski with BLIZZARD and TECNICA in his victories last season. I would like to profit from this and go on the offensive again,” commented the 32-year-old Arlberg native after signing his deal.

UNBELIEVABLE SUCCESS!!! CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE SUPER EXCITING FINAL!!

Viktoria Rebensburg wins the giant slalom at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games!!
In the Men's World Cup in Zagreb, Croatia today, Nordica took charge as Giuliano Razzoli from Italy won his first World Cup win just 0.23 seconds ahead of fellow Italian Manfred Moelgg who finished second.
"What a fantastic day," said Razzoli, whose third place last year here was his first career podium finish. "You can't describe this. The atmosphere is fantastic and the hill really suits me."
The Italians shut out Austria's Reinfried Herbst, who was seeking his third slalom win of the season on the icy Crveni Spust course. Jimmy Cochran, the only American to qualify for the second run, finished 25th.
Nordica had two other athletes finish in the top 15, Mattias Hargin from Sweden who finished 7th and Anton Lahdenperae who started in 63 on his first run to move up to 13th.

BLIZZARD Star Reinfried Herbst wins the season’s first world cup slalom in the Finnish town of Levi
Mittersill (Austria) – BLIZZARD’s racing team entered the 2009-10 Olympic winter season furiously with Salzburg native Reinfried Herbst winning the season opener in Levi (Finland). After the first heat Herbst was only in fourth place, but a tremendous second run helped him jump into first, passing his long-term rivals Ivica Kostelic (Croatia) and Jean-Baptiste Grange (France). “I wasn’t expecting it,” the veteran said, visibly pleased, about his sixth world cup victory. “In the first heat I tried approaching the competitive conditions step by step, and then in the second run everything I was trying to do worked.”
Not satisfied with training runs
He was not satisfied with his training runs, but during the race everything came together. The hard slope conditions in Finland have been especially difficult for the Olympic second-place finisher from Turin the last two days. “I’ve never taken as many practice runs before, and that seems to have paid off,” said ‘Reini,’ who was as surprised as anybody by the results. “The hard slopes actually came too early, because we’ve barely trained under these conditions so far this year.”
Best results before Christmas also thanks to new equipment
Herbst has never had a podium spot before Christmas before; a twefth-place finish at Beaver Creek in 2005 was the best season start of his career until now. Outfitters BLIZZARD and TECNICA had developed skis and boots especially for Herbst heading into this Olympic season, giving him perfect equipment to work with once again. ‘Reini’s’ opinion concerning his new equipment: “That BLIZZARD’s skis were fast and ready for victory, I knew. Now that my new TECNICA boots are tuned to the skis, however, I was able to get even more of an advantage.” BLIZZARD Racing director Bernhard Knauss had only good things to say about Herbst: “It was a brilliant performance from Reini, especially because it wasn’t going so well in training. The company is proud and happy for him.”
